Poets have written about them. Millions have admired them. I like to think about trees as ageless and enduring, like a poignant memory that lives on, though age has taken its’ toll. Their roots are deep. They are immovable with the exception of being moved by man or tragedy. Trees live through all sorts of weather, the seasons, disasters and they often keep on growing despite the great odds against them. I find peace when I think of them growing and lifting their leaves to the sun in the spring. What human being for all their ego and self-importance can stop the cycle of nature or stop a tree from growing into a forest? The growth may be small and unnoticed. However, long after we are forgotten and gone, the forest will remain. Work then, to grow as many trees as you can.
This is an informal vitae of my coursework and how it may be related to potential jobs in the business world.

Other Classes Which Might Relate to Business
My wide liberal arts background and study of psychology and inter-cultural communication has an impact on how I understand and relate to people. Linguistics requires a multi-disciplinary approach. Not only do linguists study classes in foreign language, but they also take classes in teaching English to speakers of other languages. They take classes in phonology, the history of language, philology, lexicography, etc. The following is a list of some of the classes I’ve taken which I feel might be relevant to business or business management.
Sociology
Psychology
English as a Second Language Teaching Methodology
ESL teaching practicum
Psycholinguistics – Relates to understanding language acquisition and communication disorders as well as cognitive psychology.
